Some takes of the recent budget deal have U.S. House Speaker John Boehner and his conservative and tea party bases winning the fight, which I call "low midnight." For example, the April 9 New York Times story "Some Democrats Complain About Budget Compromise" reported that Democrats fear that President Barack Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid gave away too much to appease the Republicans into signing onto a compromise.
