iPhone 4 Verizon Phone for Feb 10

The Verizon iPhone 4 is identical to the AT&T version except for one big advantage and a couple of relatively small disadvantages.
The advantage is it can be used to set up a Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing up to five other devices, such as laptops and iPads, to access the Internet through the phone. Verizon will charge $20 a month extra for that feature but has not yet announced the cost of its data plans for the iPhone.
One disadvantage to the Verizon iPhone is that it doesn't have a GSM chip, which means it won't work in most countries, including those in Europe. Verizon has some "world phones" with GSM chips, but the iPhone isn't one of them. That won't be a problem for most Americans, who don't travel overseas often and who can always purchase or rent an inexpensive GSM phone for their travels. Besides, it's a lot cheaper to use a phone with a local SIM card than to pay roaming rates through AT&T to use an iPhone.
