Uganda Election 2011 , Uganda Decides


FOR GOD  AND MY COUNTRY
This weekend Ugandans go to the polls again, for a country were poverty /disease and unemployment are on a rampage, the exercise is worth it, compared to the 2006 elections there has been a lot of growth and now people have started looking at issues instead of sentiments.

Meet the Candidates
Robert Mao DP
Representing the Democratic party DP , He is considered the Obama of Uganda by Ugandans Under 40


Kizza Besigye (FDC)
Founder of the Forum for Democratic change (FDC)
Main Challenger, former ally and personal Doctor of Incumbent  Yoweri Museveni ,
 Besigye is giving his third shot at the presidency



Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (NRM)
National Resistance Movement (NRM) and Incumbent General Yoweri Museveni led a rag tag guerrilla army of  27 Men who toppled the then military junta of Tito Okello (RIP) in 1986 has been in power since, and elected president for three 5 year terms now running for his fourth term.

 

Betty Namissango Kamya (FAP)
Current MP and founder of Federal Alliance Party, fell out with former boss and running mate Kizza Besigye to form the now federal advocacy party ie federal alliance mainly to woo Baganda loyalists


Sam Lubega
Little known comedian Samuel Lubega standing as independent.

Olara Otunu (UPC)
Uganda Peoples congress Olara Otunnu been at the UN from the early 1980s and standing on the UPC ticket ,one of the oldest parties whose found the Late Milton Obote was president at indepence  in Oct 1962

Jabeli Bidandi Ssali (PPP)
Former ally and Minister of Local Government in the Museveni government later fell out and formed the People’s progressive Party (PPP)
