Princes and Paupers: Carmelo Anthony & Raymond Felton

While one just carried his team to victory over the Miami Heat and is being hailed as the King of New York, along with Amar'e Stoudemire, the other is now splitting time in Denver with a man who once walked in his shadow. The trade deadline treated Carmelo Anthony and Raymond Felton in a very different manner, and should cause one to pause before decreeing the days of owners treating players like property is dead and gone. If we're going to claim that all players are equal, maybe we should take a page from Animal Farm and also decree that some players are more equal than others.

I don't have any problems with Carmelo Anthony–he won me a college basketball pool my freshman year at JMU–, but I do struggle to view him as some sort of zapatista freedom fighter.
