Coach Keith Smart conceded before Wednesday night's loss against Dallas that it was probably time to "see and mold some pieces" for the future. About three hours later - midway through the third quarter - Biedrins rolled his ankle and opened the door for Smart to play Udoh as many minutes as the rookie can handle.
Biedrins, amid his most productive game in more than a month, appeared to trip over a crowd of feet in the lane, injuring the same ankle that cost him nine games in December and January.
