Mikey Welsh Predicted His Own Demise Two Weeks Before Being Found Dead

Two weeks before he passed away, Mikey Welsh posted on Twitter his own prediction of when he would die. In an eerie twist, the former bassist of Weezer tweeted that he would most likely die in his sleep somewhere in Chicago.

Mikey wrote on September 26, "dreamt i died in chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). need to write my will today." Later, the musician-turned-painter added in another note, "correction - the weekend after next."

Mikey Welsh had long battled drug addictions. "Basically, a lifetime of doing drugs and being undiagnosed as having disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and borderline personality disorder finally caught up with me when I was 30 years old," he once said. "At the beginning of a 3-month European tour with Weezer, I started slowly falling apart."

He joined Weezer after Matt Sharp left the band in 1998, but resigned from his position later in 2001 due to nervous breakdown. On his road to recovery after his battle against drugs and mental health issues, he found solace in painting.
